Small wee story about us, so where do we begin…

We first met at work when Kayleigh started with the district nurses in Milngavie. The very first thing Sarah said was: “Hi, I’m Sarah, would you like to join my running club?” Now, anyone who knows Kayleigh can probably guess her reaction😳… let’s just say it was a very firm no! But hey, the thought was there.

A few weeks later, during a car ride, Sarah gave Kayleigh what can only be described as the Spanish Inquisition about her life… including her dating history. Kayleigh mentioned she was recently single, and Sarah immediately assumed it was from a guy (Awkward 👀) only to be a little speechless when she found out otherwise! Sarah even sought advice from colleagues, feeling terrible for making assumptions, while Kayleigh secretly wondered if Sarah might actually be the same 🤔… only for Sarah to insist she was “100% straight.” 🙄

Fast forward a week or two, and things got a little less awkward. On the way home from work one evening, Kayleigh ended up in a car accident (don’t worry, she was fine!🫣). By complete coincidence, Sarah happened to be driving by at that exact moment. She became so worried that she kept phoning Kayleigh until she eventually picked up and then stayed on the phone until Kayleigh was safely home. During that call, Kayleigh found out that Sarah had a dog called Psalm 🐶 who Sarah just so happened to walk him past Kayleigh’s house almost every day.

From then on, the two of them started going on walks together nearly every day. Things just… clicked. Walks turned into movie nights, where cuddles were apparently just “normal friendship behaviour” (remember, Sarah was still “100% straight 👀😂,” so it was totally fine). That is, until one night when Kayleigh agreed to pick Sarah up after a night out which lead to Sarah making the first move!

From there, our friendship grew into something so much more and on 3rd June 2024 Sarah eventually asked Kayleigh to be her girlfriend ❤️ so I think we can all agree that Sarah is certainly NOT 100 percent straight 😂.

As time has progressed both Kayleigh and Sarah relationship has continued to grow and develop! It’s not been easy at times but what relationship is? We were so lucky to be friends first, and it feels like everything really did happen for a reason. We both came into each other’s lives exactly when we needed to. (Very soppy, I know🥴)

Since then, we’ve built a life full of memories, holidays, staycations, day trips, concerts and buying our first home together. The most exciting moment so far came in May 2025 in Greece, when Sarah proposed. In true Sarah fashion, she asked on the wrong day 🙈 (because the secret was eating her alive, and she was worried Kayleigh would find the ring 😅). But to be honest it was absolutely perfect. Sarah proposed at night on our private terrace, after about 30 minutes of shock, Kayleigh finally said yes!

Now, here we are about to get married 💒 We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you, dance the night away, and maybe even get Kayleigh to finally join that running club (spoiler: still a hard no) but at least we know Sarah is most definitely not 100 percent straight!
